Bad start, good finish

Yesterday was the 4th of July, and I guess that means something in the USA. What it meant for me yesterday morning was an incredibly long and painful family reunion type thing at my uncles house. Natuarally, my Mom HAD to be the first one there, and we ended up getting there like 10mins before people were even supposed to arrive. I have no idea why she's always compeled to be the first person to these types of things because NO ONE in the rest of the family has ever been on time for anything, ever. So there was a lot of stilling around, waiting, idle chatter about inane topics which I couldn't have cared any less about... and this went on for a full four hours. It was excrutiating, by the end I was about ready to give myself a lombotomy with a power drill.

But, I escapped with my brains intact and was able to go see Sandy at UNH last night, which was at least 13 million times cooler than hanging around with relatives. Granted I had to wait a little while for her to get back from the picknic that she went on with some other of the McNaire kids, but I would have waited even longer. We were able to walk down to the fields and saw the fireworks up close which was pretty awesome. They had a good display, which I'm fairly certain was better than anything Keene would have done (I didn't get to see Keene's this year, because they went and shot them off on the 3rd, which is just retarded). Still I'm gald I got to see Sandy even if it was only for a little while.
